Legal and financial considerations
There are a great many legal, financial and administrative details concerned in any funeral. At Berry’s, it has always been our aim not only to provide expert advice in such matters, but also to relieve unnecessary stress and worry by arranging any details on our customer’s behalf as an integral part of our service.
Our own fees are based on a Standard Service charge, plus the relevant external costs of such items as coffins and caskets, cemetery and crematorium fees, selected memorials, external legal and administrative fees, etc. In all cases, our customers are kept fully informed of the cost involved, to ensure that the final account is both realistic and affordable.
Services included in our Standard Service charge are as follows:
- Experienced staff to organise funerals for Adelaide, country, interstate and shipment overseas.
- Private consultation facilities.
- Confidential advice and guidance on all matters concerning funerals, funeral procedure and funeral costs.
- Day and night attention every day of the year.
- Facilities to effect movement to our mortuary.
- Procurement of necessary Death Certificates.
- Completion of Registration with the Government Registrar and obtaining the necessary Cremation Permit.
- Liaison with the crematorium or cemetery for reservation of time and grave requirements.
- Trained staff to make preparation for viewing if required.
- Use of private viewing room.
- A wide selection of caskets and coffins to satisfy any personal wish.
- Use of private Chapel and reception room.
- Prestige funeral vehicles.
- Provide donation envelopes if required.
- Chairs at graveside.
- Liaise with clergy or celebrant and coordinate Church requirements for all denominations.
- Fulfilling any wishes concerning Lodge, RSL etc.
- Preparing and inserting notices in press (city, suburban, country and interstate) and radio where required.
- Insertion of Lodge or other special notices.
- Arranging delivery of flowers to hospitals or institutions after funeral, if requested.
- Collection and return of floral tribute cards.
- Experienced Funeral Consultants with trained, well dressed courteous staff for constant attention during the funeral.
- Provision of Books of Remembrance and Memorial cards.
- Hymn books or Hymn sheets.
- Provision of folding flower racks.
- Suitable grass matting for all burials.
- Canopy at gravesite if required.
- Provide lowering device at graveside.
- Provision of National Flag where appropriate.
- Provide pall bearers if required.
