"Dear Jock, Ewin and Kate . You are such a kind, gentle and generous family. I always enjoyed speaking with Drew, when visiting at your house, or when I bumped into him when I was out and about. Drew always had something interesting to say, he was observant and loved discussing things - sharing our opinions and often ending up with me laughing, for his humour was so sharp and clever. Drew's eyes often seemed to start laughing before he did and his smile was infectious. I feel heart broken for you all and honoured, that I had the privilege of knowing Drew. Goodbye Drew, you will be missed. Much love, Marissa"

"We remember when Drew was born and the joy he brought to Kate and Ewin. As a little boy Drew was a quiet and shy child. As he grew older, he was gentle, considerate, and always polite - ever the perfect gentleman but with a keen sense of humour and quick wit. John and Ben remember Drew loving sport, in particular soccer. Sarah remembers catching up at Morella with her city cousins, Jock and Drew, where Drew in particular loved the wide open spaces and nature. Holidays were treasured times. We remember Drew as a little boy playing the piano at Morella, we remember many Christmas days all spent together either here in the Clare Valley or in Adelaide.
To our darling Drew, you are at peace now, you will forever be so fondly loved and remembered by all our family. Our constant thoughts and love are with you always Kate, Ewin, Jock, Ri, Angus and Harry."

"I remember Drew as my first best friend when we were very young 5 year old's in reception of primary school. The way I remember it, my family and I had recently migrated to Australia and I barely spoke English at the time. During recess and lunch breaks I would follow Drew around copying whatever he said, much to Drew’s frustration! Eventually I became increasingly communicable and our friendship grew and grew! Unfortunately we never shared a classroom again, but I never forgot his friendship when we were young and just starting school. My deepest condolences to all of your family and loved ones."

"My recollection of Drew was that as a teenager you were always smart, friendly and funny. Always welcoming and tolerating my many visits to your family home. I always felt welcomed by your entire family and treasure those experiences.
Undoubtedly you will be missed by your family and loved ones. My thoughts are with them during these trying times.
Rest In Peace and Good bye."

"Goodbye Drew, I can still visualise you riding past my house. A part of our daily teenage years, to and from school. You would always stop to say hello if I was out playing netball on the street. Stopping for a longer chat if returning home from school with Jock. We would all have a laugh when all 4 of us were out on the street (Brooke, Jock, you and I). I remember your interest in science and maths, subjects I found difficult at school. Most of all I remember your cheeky smile and your clever insightful one liners. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Love Jess Davis"

"Drew has been our next-door neighbour for many years, probably getting on towards 20 years we suppose. We will miss him a lot – the cheery ‘Hellos’ from across the fence, and the many conversations on items of mutual interest. He looked out for us and we looked out for him. Drew knew a lot about many things; he obviously read and researched a wide range of topics, and was a good conversationalist. He was obviously a man of high intelligence, knowledgeable and very articulate. We couldn’t have wished for a better neighbour over all those years. And we saw how supportive his family was of him; in particular his Dad who came every week, often several times, to help Drew out with various things and to talk with him. Their mutual respect was obvious, and we think no-one could have done better for Drew than his Dad did. Thinking of you all at this sad time."
